Saturday, May 11 – 11:30 am all women are invited to COSROW’s Lunch for Ladies. The menu will include Spritzers and Appetizers, Soup and Salad, Sea Breeze Sorbet, Chicken, Pork, Rice Pilaf and assorted individual desserts. There will be entertainment, poetry and prizes. Cost is $20 per person. Sign up by May 5 by calling Jane at 775-0347.

Thursday, May 16 at 1 pm join Merry Friends for a viewing of the acclaimed movie Lincoln. Some of the group are bring snacks but be sure to bring your own beverage. Everyone is welcome to join the group in the Fireside Room. Join us!!

Friday, May 17 at 7 pm.  Changer The World Benefit Concert.  Join us for a free concert to benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, Bridge To Home Homeless Shelter, and Family Promise. he concert is free but snacks will be for sale and feel free to bring canned food for the pantry.

Saturday, May 18 at 6 pm join Genesis, a group of adults with older children, to either learn Mahjong or help teach it. There will be an Asian potluck dinner too. Please RSVP to mikleewolf@aol.com and let Mike and Lee know what dish you will be bringing. It will a great night, join us!

Sunday, May 19 at 9 am is Music Appreciation in worship. Join us as many of the music groups in the church will provide uplifting music as we worship.

Sunday, May 19 at 11 am is Confirmation in worship. Come celebrate with us as we confirm this year’s Confirmation class. It’s a wonderful service. Join us!!

Sunday, May 19 at 6 pm is the 7th Annual Ring and Sing Concert. The Chancel Voices, Good News Gang, Messengers, Living Reign, Rainbow Ringers, Ring-A-Lings and the Silver Jubilee Rings will present inspirational as well as popular music. This is a free concert but there will be a free will offering taken to support the handbell ministries.

All Month – VBS Sign ups have begun! Check out the link on the main page and get your kids signed up for a great week of Vacation Bible School. Scholarships are available and all kids ages 3 yr. old through rising 6th graders are invited. All parents and teenagers are invited to come and be a part of the VBS team. There is a spot for everyone!

All Month – Summer Camp Sign Ups have begun! Check out www.cal-pac.org to rigister the kids for California Pacific Conference summer camps. Call the church office and ask for Candy Holsen-beck Smith for more information on conference camps.

Ongoing Groups:

Terrific Tuesdays is for kids 1st-6th grades and meets on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:30. They participate in a lesson, crafts and lots of games. Dinner is served at 5:30 and those kids staying for hand bells are walked to rehearsal at 6 pm. Currently, this group is collecting coats and jackets that will be given to Family Promise and other local organizations that serve the poor.

 

Betwixt N Between is a new lectionary-based study group that meets on Sunday mornings in the Small World Teacher’s Lounge. This is an in-depth study of the lectionary readings for each Sunday. Copies of the readings are available from Mary Tedrow. For more information call Eric Weatherbee at 805-701-5736 or Mary Tedrow at 661-664-6345. Grab a cup of coffee and a donut and join us!

Five Alive is a mixed group of adults that meet at noon on Sundays in the Fireside Room. They are starting a study of James Michener’s book, The Source. All adults are invited to join in the lively discussions with this group. More information is available by calling Candy Holsenbeck-Smith at the church office, 661-297-3783.

Wesleyan Spiritual Group
This new group will start on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7:45 am at the Panera on McBean. Pastor Melissa will be facilitating this group and the meetings will be organized around John Wesley’s model of a small group. It will be a great way to center your week on Christ. All adults, men and women, are invited to join.

Monday Night Tutoring

This is for anyone interested in helping local children improve their skills. Spanish speakers are especially needed. It takes place every Monday evening that there is school from 6-8 p.m. i Fellowship Hall. Contact Candy Holsenbeck-Smith at the church office for more information.

Worship Schedule

8:00 a.m. –Lectionary based Bible Study in Small World Office

9:00 & 11:00 a.m. - Worship Service

10:00 a.m. – Donuts, coffee & punch are available for a donation on the patio.

9:30 & 11 a.m. – Korean Language Worship Service, Youth Building

Overflow Service, 6 p.m. - A contemporary service one Sunday a month, featuring music and a different speaker each month.

Nursery & Sunday School

Nursery care is available for all children ages birth through age 2 during both worship services in Room 2 all year.

9:00 Sunday School
Pre-school age children go directly to their classroom while Elementary age children start with an opening worship service in Fellowship Hall.
Children can be picked up in their classrooms after worship:
Classrooms:
ages 3 through pre-k : rooms 5 and/or 6
Kindergarten and 1st grade : room 7
2nd and 3rd grades : room 3
4th, 5th, and 6th grades : FoundersHall

11:00 Sunday School is a one room Sunday School setting. Children begin by attending with their parents in the sanctuary. After a children's moment with the pastor, they are dismissed to Fellowship Hall where they have a short worship service of their own.
